     Beverly J. “Bev” Vanderheydt, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away at 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
     Private services will be held at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with interment at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
     Bev was born in Normal on May 3, 1929, the daughter of Arthur Charles and Ruth E. (Seniour) Billings. She married Earl M. Vanderheydt on November 1, 1947 in ­­­­­­Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2005 in Chillicothe. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dan Vanderheydt.
     She is survived by her daughter, Terrell L. (Rick) Starkweather of Sparland; son, Rob A. Vanderheydt of Chillicothe; younger brother, Roger C. (Frances) Billings of Peoria, whom she loved dearly; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
     Bev was a homemaker and member of Chillicothe United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending “The Billy Graham Hour” with her children and had a strong faith in God. She relied on God throughout her life and as a focal point in her marriage.
     She adored her grandchildren and having all of her family together for holidays and family functions. She loved gardening, both flowers and vegetables, canning and making jelly. She had a sweet personality, always treated people with respect and lived a Christian life.
     Memorial contributions may be made in Bev’s memory to the Peoria Rescue Mission or the Salvation Army.

Terrell and Rob,

I'm sorry for your loss.  your mom was a sweet person who always treated everyone with kindness.  One of my best memories was her chilli she always made after we got the wood cut and split each Fall.  We used to have a great time at Earl and Bev's house.

We are so sorry to hear of Bev's passing. We loved her very much. She was more like a sister to uss, than an aunt.
We shared many years of woderful and fun times with her and Bud, the love of her life. You all was so lucky to have her for a mother, sister, and grandmother, and good friend.
Please know that you all will be in our prayers. Bev will be missed very much from our lives, but we know she is where she wants to be now. God Bless all her family. Mary & Kenny Vanderheydt.
